Our Staff

Every baptized person is a minister here because we all share the responsibility of being the Body of Christ. But we also have professional ministers who work to organize our mission and ministries.

Pastoral Staff

Pastor Tom Kent

Pastor Tom Kent proudly holds the fish that he caught.I think it should feel good to be part of the church. We gather to celebrate God’s promise of forgiveness, love and a new lease on life. I continue to be excited about the ways we get to love God by loving others whether it’s feeding the hungry, walking with the poor, homeless and those in recovery with our partners in the city or working with our SOS Ministries of food, social service and assistance. I believe it is more important to have questions than it is to assume we have all the right answer. God is not meant to be defined or understood as much as God is to be known, felt and experienced in the same way we know those who we love.

My wife Ruth and I have two grown daughters and one grandson. We live just west of Sussex near Merton. I swim laps almost every day and commute to work on a bike when weather allows. When I’ not working I enjoy my giant garden (some say it has its own zip code). I also enjoy fishing and hunting with my two labs and pretty much anything outside.

Vicar Joe Wilkinson

Vicar Joe playing guitar on the Middle School mission trip.It is good to worship and work together in this place! God invites us daily to be a part of the transformative movement of the Holy Spirit working through the world. I am grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn at Christ Our Savior as we seek together to understand what God is up to in our community.

As the Vicar, I began my internship on January 1st 2017, and will serve at Christ Our Savior through December 31st 2017. I live in Milwaukee with my wife, Katheryn, and our daughter, Lily. After my internship, I will have one final semester of academics at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago before I am able to graduate and be called as a full pastor to a congregation.

When not at church, you can usually find me playing games with friends. Whether card games, board games, video games, party games, ultimate frisbee, bowling, shooting pool, or learning new games, I continue to delight in the joy of play.

Amy Berken

Amy Berken standing in front of an evergreen“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). Every day I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve God and others by helping them live out their faith both in ministries within the church and in the community.

As the Director of Adult Discipleship and Outreach at Christ Our Savior, I have the privilege to get to know members and help them become involved in various ways using their God-given abilities. I enjoy seeing others connect with one another and build relationships with each other. And, nothing makes me smile more than when I see someone experience God’s love and share that love with others.

My husband Rob and I have three children: Sarah, Elizabeth, and Matthew. We live just outside of West Bend. I enjoy cheering on our kids at their sporting events, spending time together as a family, walking our English Springer Spaniel Oreo, attending Bible Study, swimming laps, and making crafts.

Eileen Swierczek

Music Ministry (Keyboard/Organist)

It is a blessing and privilege to be a part of such a vibrant congregation, which is very supportive of music ministry. I have been coordinating and playing music at COS for many years and find great joy in working with so many talented musicians to enhance worship. My husband and I are the proud parents of three wonderful young adults. When not at church, I work at a local elementary school and enjoy camping, biking and eating Japanese food.

Linda Dowlding

Music Ministry (Choir Director)

My children and I have been members of COS since 1992. I became the Choir Director in 1999 and also share the position of Music in Ministry Director. I truly enjoy working with my choir; we are like extended family to each other. As a group, we love bringing a “joyful noise unto the Lord” to enhance an already great worship experience. It’s a pleasure to work with Pastor Tom and the staff. There’s never a dull moment putting a worship service together. I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful , warm and giving congregation. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my kids participate in their sports, having friends over for wine, and being a “backseat judge” of American Idol.

Brad Moerke

Music Ministry (Band Leader)

I have been the COS Vision band director for the last ten years. It has been a rewarding experience for me. I have had great support from the pastors and staff to present newer music to our church. It has also been rewarding to work with many of the students, and to see them grow into adulthood.
