COMPASSION/OUTREACH

The people of Christ Our Savior get to make a difference in the world by reaching out to help those around us and even those on far off continents as we live what we teach.

Locally

• We have a partnership with S.O.S. (Sussex Outreach Services) with food pantry, emergency assistance, referrals, etc.
• We are a Cooperating Churches of Sussex ministry, which reaches out to serve the immediate Sussex community.
• Direction and leadership of annual Cooperating Churches of Sussex Mini-Workcamp for youth in the area.
• We support urban missionaries in Milwaukee at 16th & Fond du Lac and 35th & Garfield.
• We support and participate in Serenity Inn, a halfway house for men following inpatient treatment for addiction.
• We continue a partnership with Lutheran Social Services in full range child care in our building for anyone who desires.
• Annual mission trip for youth around the country - recently to an Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
• We provide food and gifts to local Christmas families.
• Leadership and participatin in community meals project in Sussex and Menomonee Falls.
• Annual Coats for Kids collection center.

Globally

• Our quilters make hundreds of beautiful quilts which Lutheran World Relief distributes worldwide.
• Third World Gift Shoppe provides sale of products produced by people in thrid world countries to provide  them income.
• We support the disaster relief program of the ELCA.
• We continue our sponsorship of children in Honduras.
